1. Introduction
Witly ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Witly application and website.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information:
- Your name and email address, from the account you sign in with
What You Give Us to Make Captions:
- The post descriptions and keywords you type
- Photos you upload for photo captions (Pro and Pro Max)
- Captions you choose to save as favourites
Usage Information:
- How many captions you generate each day, and which categories you use, so we can apply your plan's daily limit
- Which pages of the app you open, recorded with your account by our hosting provider, Base44
- Basic technical details your browser sends, such as device type and IP address, which our hosting provider may record for security
Payment Information:
- Your plan, and the subscription and payment reference numbers from Razorpay
- We do NOT see or store your card, UPI or bank details. Razorpay handles all payment details, including any phone number you give at checkout.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Generate captions from your descriptions, keywords and photos
- Check that descriptions, keywords and photos are safe before captions are made
- Apply your plan's features and daily limits, and prevent misuse
- Process your subscription payments through Razorpay
- Contact you about your account or payments when needed
- Respond to your support requests
- Fix problems and improve the app
4. How We Share Your Information
We do NOT sell your personal data to anyone. We only share data with the services that run Witly:
- Razorpay: to process subscription payments
- Base44: our hosting provider, which stores the app's data and runs sign-in
- AI service providers, through Base44: your descriptions, keywords and photos are sent to them to write captions and check safety. If you include personal details in them, those details are sent too, so please leave out anything you don't want shared.
We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
5. Cookies and Local Storage
Witly doesn't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. It uses your browser's local storage to keep the app working smoothly, for example to remember your plan and your recent captions. This data stays on your device and is cleared when you log out.
6. Data Storage and Security
- Your data is stored on Base44's cloud infrastructure, and data sent to and from the app is encrypted
- Before a photo is uploaded, your phone removes its location and camera details. Photos are kept in private storage that only Witly's server can open, using links that expire within 5 minutes
- Payment details are handled entirely by Razorpay and never stored by Witly
- We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account, saved captions and usage records at any time from Profile, using Delete my account. You can also ask us by email; we confirm within 48 hours and complete it within 30 days. Our hosting provider does not yet let us delete individual uploaded photos; they stay in private storage that only Witly's server can open, and we will delete them once this becomes possible.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account and data, from Profile or by asking us
- Get a copy of your saved captions

8. Age Requirement
Witly is only for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 is using Witly, please email app.witly@gmail.com and we will delete their account.
9. Third Party Links
Witly may contain links to third party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notification. Continued use of Witly after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
